Use synaptic and install fusion icon and Compiz Settings Manager. Now go into folder emerald/pixmaps and You take ownership of the emerald-theme-manager-icon.png file, then log out and in and go to menu, emerald, right click properties and install the icon you just took ownership of. Install emerald theme manager linux mint free. If you'd like to have Emerald theme on your mint 13 here is the recepi: Type in the terminal: sudo apt-get install git autoconf libtool libwnck1.0-cil-dev libwnck-dev intltool libdecoration0-dev gawk. Been a long fan of Emerald and missed its deprecation from Linux distro’s. About to install Mint 16 Cinnamon because with the new effects reminiscent of the old Compiz days. If I install emerald as above, how will the new effects in Cinnamon be affected, or will downloading CCSM also pull in compiz-core compliz-plugins etc. Which will then knock out Cinnamon effects when you type “emerald –replace”? Install (Compiz) Fusion-icon and launch it. Right-click on the icon in the notification area, set Select Window Decorator to Emerald, and you should be done. You may also need to set Select Window Manager to Compiz instead of Metacity.
