XEX is the default file extension designed specifically for use with the Xbox 360 gaming system. These types of files are not designed to be opened on your personal computer. They are used to update software on your Xbox system. In order to inject or copy specific XEX files to your Xbox through an xex menu application, you need to have an Xbox that has been jailbroken (hacked) for jtagging software. Double-click the “xexmenu” file package folder to extract the folder contents, then double-click the folder inside named “code999.”
Drag and drop the “code999” folder into the USB drive folder, then right-click inside the USB drive folder and select “New” to create a new folder. Name the new folder: “000000000000000” (16 zeros). The placement of these folders into the drive folder is sometimes referred to as “injecting.” Then remove the USB drive from your computer.
Press the “Power” button on your Xbox 360, then plug the USB drive into the first USB port on your Xbox console. The Xbox will automatically detect the drive and the application will install itself.
Scroll to the “Game Library,” then select the xexmenu and press the “X” button to launch the application.

The Live version of XEX Menu can be injected in to an Xbox 360 formatted usb stick using tools such as Party Buffalo Drive Explorer or even copied across from a USB hard drive to the internal hard drive when used with the ISO version of XEX Menu, allowing XEX Menu to be used without a disc in the Xbox 360 console.
Download XEX Menu 1.1 (ISO) -Unzip and burn the ISO to disc, XEX Menu will then appear under the Games / Demos tab on the dashboard.
