After it was damaged I bought a new one but this dongle is a Alcatel AL870. My sytem does not even see it connected. I deleted the old settings and reinstalled , 'purged' network settings following another thread here. but still no change. Alcatel has no linux drivers after a google search I can not find any. The dongle has preloaded software for windows on it so I assume I must be lacking the correct drivers for linux?
